I am Professor of Social Anthropology at the Department of Social and Human Sciences at the Universitas Miguel Hernández since october 2000. Until september 2014, when the Bolonia process was imposed over Spanish campuses, I had been teaching Social and political anthropology and Anthropology of leisure and tourism at the Licenciatura of Social and Cultural Anthropology (Bachelor level). Currently I am teaching the following courses:

I have delivered seminars and lectures on socio-anthropology of tourism and tourism development from an cultural-ecological perspective as well as researching as Visiting Scholar (VS) at different European and American universities:

I am a board member of the International Journal of Heritage and Sustainable Development an advisory board member of Revista Valenciana d’Etnologia, as well as peer-reviewer of several international and national scientific journals.

On January 28th of 2015 I was awarded with the II Prize José Lledó y Antón on university freedom and autonomy with the text por el trabajo titulado La libertad de catédra universitaria en el actual orden de palabras y cosas. The university news magazine UMH Sapiens published an interview with me on this subject, and the Blog of the Master de Antropología Social Práctica where I am currently also teaching, published an interview that summarises my views on teaching. Though my most precious award and the one I am most proud of is the Prize to Educational Talent obtained in November 2014 .
